Mark your calendars for the 18th Annual Catoctin Challenge Charity Bike Ride to benefit The League for People with Disabilities, scheduled for June 22-23, 2013. Last year, League Board Member and former NBA star, Walt Williams, rallied his friends and supporters to form TEAM WALT, raising over $25,000 to support The League and Camp Greentop. As a board member of The League and the father of a child with a disability, Walt has dedicated himself to increasing awareness of the issues effecting people with disabilities in our community and ensuring that these individuals have access to quality health care, state of the art facilities, nurturing staff, and opportunities for outdoor recreation like Camp Greentop. For the second year in a row, Walt has committed himself to ride in the 100 mile Catoctin Challenge and this year has partnered with his alma mater, the University of Maryland, to help raise awareness and funding to support the individuals we serve.
