Living Well at The League: Drop’s Story

Drop’s core group of friends (a.k.a. “the Amigos”) are certain that their pal has superpowers. While Drop may not be able to fly or shoot laser beams from his eyes, he has the amazing ability to make meaningful connections in a short period of time. At 44 years young, Drop has a passion for adventure, music, and people.

At The League, Drop is able to participate in all of his favorite activities, chat with his friends, and schedule time to meet with the onsite Therafit specialists in the accessible Wellness Center. Each day, with the encouragement of his peers and the assistance of his therapists, he is empowered to take more figurative and physical steps towards his goals.

What began as a pipe dream is now a reality. Drop has been wanting to join The League’s Adult Medical Program for a long time so that he could be part of a dynamic and supportive community. When he and his mother finally got the call in April of 2025, Drop was thrilled to be rolling through the halls of East Cold Spring Lane by the first week of May.

With his metaphorical cape blowing in the breeze, “Super Drop” zooms through the campus ready to chat, laugh, and listen to music with everyone that he sees. He enjoys spending time in Art Therapy classes where he can create woven fiber arts, paintings, and wind chimes with caring staff members and volunteers. Between morning and afternoon activities, Drop can eat lunch and heckle his friends in the outdoor garden space, telling jokes and defending the artistic talent of Taylor Swift.

In response to his best friend Andre’s playful teasing about the thickness of his eyeglasses, Drop replied:

“You can’t be “Super Drop” if you don’t have bulletproof glasses.”

Their bond extends beyond just friendship, they consider themselves brothers and are planning to get together outside of The League on the weekends. Since coming to The League, Drop has made many connections and learned about his favorite party spot: CLUB1111. On the second Saturday of every month, he gets to dress up, sip mocktails, eat snacks, and meet new people who he can call friends.

Drop looks forward to growing his community with The League, finding more reasons to laugh, creating works of art, and following through on his goals to live well. Your support of The League makes it possible for “Super Drop” to live his life in a healthy, productive, and authentic way.
